Using Doubles to Add Three Numbers

Work with doubles and hone your addition skills in this helpful math worksheet! Each of these eight problems includes an addition sentence with three single-digit addends, two of which are the same. Learners will be asked to first solve the doubles fact in each equation to make a new equation with two addends. Then, they’ll find the final sum by adding the last number.

This worksheet is intended for first and second graders who already have an understanding of single-digit doubles facts. These problems can not only give students practice with doubles facts, but introduce them to a strategy that can simplify addition equations with three or more addends.
