Using Gerund Phrases

Writing sentences with gerund phrases is fun and easy in this eighth-grade worksheet! Students will first read a brief introduction that describes the different functions of gerund phrases. Then, learners will need to write three sentences each with the gerund phrase as the subject, object, and object of a preposition. 

This worksheet was designed for students learning to not only identify gerund phrases in their reading, but also use gerund phrases in their writing. The ability to use gerunds can help students improve the clarity and precision of their sentences. Using gerunds also gives students another tool they can use to vary their sentence structure and write more interesting sentences.
