Using Repeated Subtraction on a Number Line to Find the Quotient #3

With this helpful worksheet, learning division doesn’t need to be difficult! Students will solve division equations with dividends within 50 by performing repeated subtraction and drawing it on a number line. The number of times students need to subtract to get to zero will be the quotient of the equation!

This worksheet is designed to teach third graders a useful method of solving division equations. Skip-counting can help students make the jump to division, as this skill builds on students’ existing knowledge and demonstrates the relationship between subtraction and division. With this practice, students will work toward learning division fact fluency and may even begin to notice patterns within multiples!
