Worksheet
Vibe Check: Interjections #1
Wow, who knew interjections could be so fun? Write sentences using interjections with this open-ended worksheet for fifth through eighth graders! Students are given a list of emotions, such as joy, pride, and relief. Learners will choose an interjection from the word bank, then include it in a sentence that reflects each feeling. Students can write their sentences about any situation they choose.
Interjection practice can strengthen young writers’ understanding of tone and voice. Using just one or two words can communicate emotion in writing without having to name the feeling! Students will also practice correct punctuation usage as they write sentences with each interjection.
This worksheet is the first in the series. Keep practicing with Vibe Check: Interjections #2!
