What Belongs? Describing the Beach

What are you more likely to find at the beach: sleds or swimsuits? Use your logical thinking and observation skills to describe a place in this colorful worksheet! Students will circle all of the pictures that belong at the beach and cross out the pictures that don’t belong. Then, they will use their own words to fill in the blanks in two sentences that describe the beach.

This worksheet was designed for kindergartners and first graders learning about the differences between locations and environments. They’ll practice identifying which characteristics belong to a specific place and use those characteristics to describe the place. This practice builds foundational knowledge of physical and human features of places and prepares students to learn more about how environments shape daily life.
