What Belongs? Describing the Forest

Determine what belongs in a forest with this early elementary worksheet! Students will look at a collection of pictures and consider whether or not they belong in a forest. Learners are asked to circle which pictures belong and cross out the ones that do not belong. Then, in part two, students will describe a forest by completing two sentences.

This worksheet will prompt kindergarteners and first graders to identify physical and human characteristics in a forest. Being able to describe places by their characteristics is a fundamental geography skill, as it prepares students to learn about land, weather, and how people interact with the environment.
