What Did I Pay For? Goods and Services

Examine real-world purchases to reinforce the concept of goods and services! Students will read 15 short scenarios that describe a purchase, such as “Mason pays for a new coat” and “Zoe pays a shop to fix her bike.” Learners must figure out whether each person is buying a good or a service, then write it on the line.

Designed for a second- and third-grade curriculum, this activity will highlight the difference between goods and services in the context of real-life purchases. Being able to identify goods and services is vital to understanding other economic concepts, such as supply and demand.
