Worksheet

What Do I Need?

Imagine it’s snowing outside; do you need a board game, a coat, or a mug of hot chocolate? Consider the difference between wants and needs in this early economics worksheet! Students will read eight scenarios and decide which items they would need in each one.

Designed for second and third graders, this activity is a great choice for introducing young learners to the foundational economic concept of wants versus needs. Students will need to draw on their logical reasoning and critical thinking to determine which objects are necessary. They can use these skills in real life as they start deciding how to spend their money!
