Worksheet
Which Plant Can Live in This Habitat? Desert
Decide which plants could survive in the desert with this habitat worksheet! First, students will write a brief description of a desert habitat. Then, students will read a short paragraph about how the various needs of plants are met by their habitats. Lastly, learners are asked to consider the needs of seaweed, agave, and a cactus. Students will determine whether each plant could survive in the desert, then explain their reasoning.
Designed for second- and third-grade learners, this worksheet will encourage students to think critically about how a plant interacts with its habitat. In order to survive, a habitat needs to meet a plant’s unique needs in terms of water, light, nutrients, and space. Learners will also get to present evidence and make claims, both of which are important skills for scientific research.
