Worksheet
Which Plant Can Live in This Habitat? Tundra
Uncover the plant life of an icy tundra with this habitat worksheet! First, students will write a brief description of a tundra—is it sunny, shady, hot, cold, wet, or dry? Then, learners are asked to consider the needs of an oak tree, moss, and an Arctic poppy. Students will decide whether each plant could survive in the tundra, then provide their reasoning.
Created for second and third graders, this worksheet will encourage learners to think about how living things, like plants, have unique needs. Some plants require more sun or more water than others, and not every habitat can meet those needs. Students will also practice explaining their thinking and presenting evidence, which will strengthen their scientific research skills.
