Worksheet

Who Did It? Make It Active #1

Decipher who’s doing what in this worksheet about passive and active voice! To start, students will learn how to rewrite a sentence using active voice by clarifying who or what is performing the action. Learners must then convert each of seven sentences from passive voice to active voice.

This worksheet will help seventh and eighth graders understand the difference between passive and active voice. Using active voice in writing can help students be clear and direct, which leads to more effective communication. Learners can also gain practice editing and revising writing, both of which are important as students begin to proofread their own work.
