Word Families Sort: Short o

Make sure you’re at the top of your short o game with this hands-on word families worksheet! Students will be asked to cut out 16 words and paste them into the correct category based on which word family they belong to. This worksheet includes short o CVC words in the -op, -og, and -ot word families. 

Use this worksheet to help kindergarteners and first graders develop foundational language art skills such as reading simple CVC words and recognizing patterns in how words are spelled and pronounced. Students will also work on their phonemic awareness, which is vital for early literacy!
