Word Walk: Prefixes and Suffixes

Take a stroll down the word part path in this unique worksheet! Students will need to find the correct route from start to finish by following the definitions. Students will color the squares and write the corresponding word next to its definition as they go. They’ll just need to be careful that they avoid similar words! 

This worksheet was designed for third, fourth, and fifth graders learning about the different parts of words. Students will consider how prefixes and suffixes affect the meaning of a base word. They can notice patterns in spelling and meaning, as well as the way affixes are applied to words.
