Make Chocolate Clay

What You Need:

  • 10 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • Waxed paper sheets

What You Do:

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave for one minute and stir until it’s completely melted. If it’s not completely melted, return to the microwave for another 20 seconds.
  • The chocolate will be hot, so watch little hands trying to lick the bowl! Pour the corn syrup into the bowl and stir well.
  • Pour the mixture onto a waxed paper sheet and spread the chocolate with your fingers until it’s about a ½ inch thick.
  • Cover loosely with waxed paper and let it stiffen for a couple of hours. Then it’s ready to be molded into anything your child can imagine.

Encourage the kids to work the dough with their hands. Give them a task, like making tiny spheres, to get them to think about molding and sculpting.
