Students will outline an opinion essay by constructing single-sentence sketches of the several components.

Students will have the opportunity to strengthen their informational essay drafts by correcting errors in conventions and mechanics. They’ll use a checklist to guide this critical step in the writing process.

Once students have selected a topic related to a piece of literature they have read and mapped out their argument, this lesson will help them turn their prewriting into an essay.
