We often conduct reading fluency tests on our students without explicitly teaching this skill. Use this lesson, which incorporates student peer review, to help raise awareness of reading fluency while improving it.

Informative essays have a structure that is fairly easy to dissect. This lesson includes an anchor essay which students will mark up, a mixed-up essay outline for them to sort, and a web for them to organize ideas for their own essay.

Use this lesson to show your students how food travels from the mouth to the stomach. Additionally, show them how the digestive system delivers important nutrients to other parts of the body and also excretes wastes from the body.
