It’s pizza time! Students will be introduced to the concept of partitioning shapes to create fractions that demonstrate halves, fourths, and eighths. This lesson is the first of two lessons that address second grade fraction concepts.

Students will use their hands to mold clay into shapes, then divide those shapes into equal and unequal quarters.

Get your students excited to learn about fractions with this hands on lesson. Working in groups will help students learn from each other and share ideas.
