Mindfulness, healthy eating, and regular exercise are all tools for resilience. In this lesson, students will learn about tools that can help them to build greater resilience and ease in their lives.

This lesson gives students a structure to help them summarize fiction texts. When they are skilled at summarizing, they will be more capable of exploring various fiction genres. Use it as a precursor to Fiction Genres Library Exploration.

Students will get lots of editing practice in this lesson! After reviewing basic editing symbols, students will edit provided stories and a partner’s work. Student will also learn about editing tools used in word processing.

Students will hear about the benefits of mindfulness from JusTme's rap song, "I'm Inspired", practice mindfulness and the STOP tool, and then write raps of their own, encouraging others to practice mindfulness and the STOP method.

Sometimes looking inside a word can help determine the meaning just like using context clues! In this lesson, students will learn to use roots and affixes as clues to the meaning of a word.

Whether students are revising handwritten drafts or work that has been composed on the computer, this lesson will help your writers understand some basic strategies and copyediting symbols for polishing their writing.

Learn to use text formatting tools like capitalization, bold, underline, and italics to give emphasis to your writing.
