Discuss correct decimal placement using logical arguments and by multiplying whole numbers. Use this lesson as a standalone lesson or use it as support to the lesson Multiply Decimals.

Do your students understand the power of 10? This lesson will allow your students to see the utility of the power of 10 in mathematics and come to a concrete conclusion of how 10 impacts the value of mathematical equations.

Refresh students on the relationship between decimals and fractions when they multiply to find the area! They will find the area of a location in a picture by converting mixed numbers to a decimals and then using the area equation.

Challenge students to use their understanding of standard algorithm division to list multiples while solving division problems. Focus on their language use and opinions in this pre-lesson to the Partial Quotients Method lesson.

Fractions are in everyday life! This lesson reviews how to solve word problems involving fractions using tape diagrams. The problems include addition, subtraction, and multiplication of fractions.

In this lesson, students will consider equations with fall pictures serving as the number value and decide which equations are true and which is a lie. The worksheets in this speaking and math lesson follow the Two Truths and One Lie game.

Activate your students' observational skills by having them analyze a chart of the powers of ten! Use this lesson on its own or as support to the lesson Powers of 10.

Your students will be able to divide decimal numbers by powers of 10 and explain decimal placement patterns in the quotient.

Make decimal comparisons! Your students will focus on comparing decimals and using necessary language to say their comparisons. Use this lesson by itself or use it as support for the Decimals, Decimals, Decimals lesson.

Area models are building blocks to more complicated multiplication and division. Use this lesson to refresh students on the relationship between multiplication and area to prepare them to use the area models strategy with larger numbers.

Can your students link line plots with fractions? In this interactive, hands-on math lesson, students will learn how to use a line plot to add fractions and solve corresponding word problems.

Start a dialogue around area models! In this lesson, encourage students to ask questions as they multiply using area models. Use this lesson on its own or as support to the lesson Area Models and Multiplication.

Challenge students to convert measurements between their metric counterparts! Students will relate the measurements to real-world objects. Use this lesson as support for the Converting Metric Measurements in Word Problems lesson.
