Worksheet
Engineer for a Day
Flex your engineering design muscles with this engaging STEM worksheet! Third, fourth, and fifth graders will start by thinking of a problem they would like to solve. Then, students will think like engineers to invent a solution! Learners will describe their invention, explain the problem it would solve, identify who it would help, then draw a picture of their invention and list the materials they would use to build it.
This activity challenges upper elementary students to think creatively in their approach to solving problems. By identifying a real-world problem and designing a solution, learners can interact with science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in a fun, self-directed, and meaningful way.
