STEM Scavenger Hunt
Think creatively about classroom objects with this STEM-focused scavenger hunt! Students are given 25 unique descriptions, such as “uses electricity,” “can roll,” and “is waterproof.” Learners are encouraged to explore their classroom to find an object that matches each prompt, challenging students to look at everyday objects through a different lens.
As third, fourth, and fifth graders search for items, they will build observation skills and practice critical thinking. Students will also recognize that tools to study science, technology, engineering, and math are all around them! This activity can be used to familiarize learners with their STEM classroom or makerspace or to help lay the groundwork for a hands-on problem-solving activity.
