Inherited Traits: Animals

In this animal-based life science worksheet, students will learn that animals inherit certain traits from their parents. Learners at the third-grade science level will adopt a biologist’s lens when they look at animal traits such as fur color, eye color, and body shape. After discerning the inherited traits, students will then list the traits and the evidence they used to inform their answer. 

This life science worksheet helps students understand how traits are inherited and builds their ability to compare and classify animal characteristics. As students are introduced to more complex biology topics, this foundational knowledge will set them up for success.
