Map Skills: Compass Rose

Navigate your way to map mastery with the help of this worksheet! Students will be asked to label the four cardinal directions and four intermediate directions on a compass rose. Then, they will answer four questions about where each direction on the compass is in relation to other directions.

Use this worksheet to introduce second and third graders to cardinal and intermediate directions, which will help students read maps, use compass roses, and navigate. Students will also build their critical thinking skills as they answer the questions about the directions.

Work on your map skills in Making a Grid Map: At the Zoo, X Marks the Spot! Island Treasure, and Finding Features on a Kingdom Map.
