Musical Code Coloring

Use music notes to complete a color-by-number in this worksheet for third and fourth graders! To start, students will write the value of a quarter note, half note, dotted half note, and a whole note. Then, using the completed key, learners can color in the picture.

This fun activity gives learners a way to review musical notation. In order to read rhythms or measures of music, students must be able to recognize each note in isolation. Young musicians can also apply this knowledge to use rhythm sticks or play the recorder in music class!
