Musical Math

Mix music and math with this marvelous worksheet! Learners will start by writing the value of a quarter note, half note, dotted half note, and whole note. Then, students must use those values to decode and solve a series of addition problems.

This worksheet is an engaging way for second, third, and fourth graders to review addition facts within 20. With this open-ended practice, students can apply any strategy they would like in order to add the two or three numbers together. This activity also reinforces musical notation and prepares students for seeing these musical notes in rhythms or measures of music.
