Read and Understand Folktales: Two Goats on a Bridge
Witness a standoff between two stubborn goats in this classic folktale! In order to get to their grassy hills, two goats must cross the same bridge. One day, they met in the middle and refused to move to let the other through, eventually shoving one another into the river below. Even then, the goats still would not admit fault and continued to blame the other.
After reading the folktale, students will answer two pages of comprehension questions. Learners will describe the events that happened at the start and end of the story, rewrite the folktale with a new setting and new characters, and use textual evidence to support a claim. These concepts are vital for developing reading comprehension and literary analysis skills.
