Worksheet
Read and Understand Limericks
Discover the frequently funny and reliably rhythmic genre of poetry called limerick! In this worksheet, students will read three wacky limericks. Then, they’ll answer a series of multiple-choice questions about the content of the limericks. Learners will also draw a picture to illustrate one of the limericks, fill in the blanks to complete a new limerick, and write a limerick of their own from scratch!
This charming worksheet is a great way to let second- and third-graders get creative as they learn about a new type of poem. Learners can familiarize themselves with limericks while practicing reading comprehension skills such as making inferences and visualizing a scene.
