Reading Fables: The Sun and the Wind
Read the table of the Sun and the Wind in this resource for third and fourth graders! To find out who was the strongest, the Sun and the Wind tried to get a passing traveler to take off his coat. The Wind tried as hard as it could to try to blow off the traveler’s coat, but the Sun used its heat to win the contest.
Fables can be a fun way for students to practice reading fluency. Learners can also discuss the characters, the theme, and the lesson of the fable, which lays the groundwork for deeper literary analysis.
