Synonym Match

Successfully spot synonyms in this first- and second-grade worksheet! Students will start by cutting out each word at the bottom of the page. Then, learners must pair it with its synonym by finding a word that has the same meaning. There are six pairs of synonyms for students to match up!

This hands-on activity encourages students to think about how multiple words can share a meaning. This also prompts learners to expand their vocabularies, allowing them to add more variety into their written and spoken communication. Correctly identifying synonyms will also benefit students as they explore shades of meaning and word choice.
