Make a Valentine's Mobile
Topics: First Grade, Arts and Crafts, Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day is all about, well, the valentines, and it seems a shame to toss all that love in the recycling bin. Why not use old cards to make this pretty mobile, which will brighten your child’s room long after the roses have wilted and the candies have been eaten?
What You Need:
- A white clothes hanger
- Red ribbon
- Assorted Valentine’s Day cards
- A hole punch
- Scissors
What You Do:
- Let your child cut pretty shapes out of the cards.
- Punch holes at the top of each shape.
- String a piece of ribbon through each hole and knot. Tie the other end of each ribbon to the hanger. There’s no need for ribbons to be of equal length. The pictures will be easier to display of the lengths vary.
- Hang in a bright spot and enjoy!
In addition to saving cards for posterity, your child is helping out the earth by reusing paper products. Now that's sweet!
