Quilt Card

What You Do:

1. Fold the sheet of construction paper in half to make a card.
2. On the front of the card, use the ruler to draw diagonal lines in pencil.
3. Angle the ruler in the opposite diagonal direction to draw diagonal lines forming diamond shapes.
4. Use a pencil to draw in a message to your mom inside the diamonds.
5. Color in each diamond shape with oil pastels or paint, using bright, cheery colors.
6. Outline all of the diamond shapes with a black oil pastel.
7. Trace the special pencil message you drew for your mom in oil pastel so that it stands out in the quilt.
8. In each diamond shape, create a different line pattern. Use squiggly lines, zig zags, dashes, diamonds and any other lines you can think of.
9. Write a personal note to your mom on the inside of your “quilted” card to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day!
