Memorizing multiplication facts requires a lot of practice! Use a deck of playing cards to help along the way. As you flip over cards in this one-player game, look for multiples of seven. Try adding up different combinations of your cards to create 7, 14, 21, 28, etc. The more combinations you can find, the better. Once you have mastered your 7s facts, try playing "Multiples of 8" or "Multiples of 9."

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Shuffle the deck and keep it in a pile, face down.
  2. Flip cards over, one at a time, and line them up on the table. Whenever you find a multiple of seven in any combination of cards, you can discard those cards. (For the sake of this game, aces = 1, jacks = 11, queens = 12, and kings = 13.)
  3. Play until the deck runs out. The number of cards left in the game is your score. Try to have the fewest cards left as possible.

Variation:

  • Look for multiples of 2, or 3, or any other number!
