Valentine Dog

What You Do:

1. Have your child fold a sheet of pink construction paper in half.
2. Show him how to draw half a heart on the paper with the beginning and end lines touching the fold.
3. Let him use scissors to cut along the penciled line.
4. Have him unfold the shape, revealing a full heart. This heart will be the base for his dog's face.
5. Explain to your child that the small foam hearts will be his dog's eyes and mouth. Help him put the hearts in the right place on the heart face.
6. Let him use a marker to draw on details on the dog's eyes and mouth.
7. Have him fold another sheet of paper in half.
8. Help him use a pencil to draw a giant floppy ear on the folded paper.
9. Let him cut out the paper along his penciled line. He should now have two identical ear shapes.
10. Have him glue the ears onto his pet's head.
