In this lesson students, learn how to listen and practice community-building skills using the circle process. This lesson helps build community and establish norms for how students communicate with each other.

This lesson includes a bunch of hands-on activities to get little writers excited about complete sentences. After learning about subjects and predicates, students will tackle the challenge of writing their own sentences and fragments.

Area models are building blocks to more complicated multiplication and division. Use this lesson to refresh students on the relationship between multiplication and area to prepare them to use the area models strategy with larger numbers.

During this lesson, students will learn how to edit their writing. They will edit their writing by adding variety to their sentences. Students will also work on writing sentences that are clearer to the reader.
