Show your Halloween spirit by creating funny, creepy or trick-or-treating themed Diamante poems. Following the poem template, students will review parts of speech while creating festive masterpieces to share with the class.

This lesson won’t be double trouble! Your students will learn how to correctly double consonants to form past tense verbs. Students will be able to read and write verbs that do and don’t have double consonants.

During this lesson, students will learn how to edit their writing. They will edit their writing by adding variety to their sentences. Students will also work on writing sentences that are clearer to the reader.

This lesson will provide your EL students with support as they explore the elements of fictional text and learn about verbs in the present participle tense. This lesson can be used as a stand alone activity or a support lesson.
