This winter-themed lesson plan, which incorporates the book Tree of Cranes by Allen Say, teaches students about Japanese traditions and customs. They will review the basic elements of a narrative story, and then write their own narratives about a special event or moment in their life.

Games are a great way to help students look closer at words! In this lesson, students will learn more about contractions and consonant pairs by creating their own games of concentration.

In this lesson, the class will review what it means to make an inference. After you model how to make an inference in a painting using your schema, your students will work in groups to analyze additional paintings to make more inferences.

Get out the measuring tape and head outside! In this lesson, students gather measurement data and build a model of the school playground.
