The English language has some tricky rules on when to use the definite article "the" and when not to use it. This lesson teaches your students some of the rules for when to use the definite article "the" with geographical nouns.

In this lesson, students will practice empathy through learning the "just like me" mindfulness practice.

Use this lesson to give your students an opportunity to share about their family traditions. Prior to the lesson, they'll complete a worksheet to gather information about the way their family honors their culture and beliefs with traditions. They'll bring their information back to the classroom to share with their peers.
