In this Saint Patrick's Day lesson plan, students will complete a 5-strategy comprehension exercise using "The Legend of the Blarney Stone."

Teach your students to ask and differentiate between recall questions and inferential questions. This lesson will help build a classroom culture around asking deep, inferential questions.

In this lesson, your students will practice their reading comprehension and vocabulary with the Pledge of Allegiance. They will reflect on the meaning of the pledge.

Use this lesson to help your ELs ask different types of questions as they read. Students will analyze a story and ask questions based on the text. This lesson could be used on its own or used as support to the Red Light, Green Light lesson.

We often conduct reading fluency tests on our students without explicitly teaching this skill. Use this lesson, which incorporates student peer review, to help raise awareness of reading fluency while improving it.
