Dot It: Short a Word Families

Can you find all of the members of each word family? In this worksheet, students will be challenged to identify words that share an ending. They will look at the pictures and find all of the ones whose names are in the -at, -ap, -ag, or -am. Then, they will use a dot marker or color the circles under the pictures in the word family. 

This worksheet was designed for preschoolers and kindergartners learning fundamental phonics skills. Students can get more familiar with the words and word families that have a short a sound. They will also build their ability to recognize phonemes without seeing the letters in the word.
