Most kids are delighted when they learn about the dinosaurs and animals that used to roam the earth before humans came around. But how do we know that these animals once existed? With fossils, of course! In this activity, have your child learn more about fossils by creating her own. Add the joy of baking and the thrill of munching goodies, and you have a perfect recipe for some kindergarten science learning.

What You Need:

  • Refrigerated sugar cookie dough (Buy this from the store, or for more math fun, measure and make your own cookie dough using any standard sugar cookie recipe.)
  • Assortment of clean, small objects to use as fossil imprints. (These will be the “fossil-makers!”)
