A simple modification on an old game keeps all of the children participating and active, giving everyone a chance to practice their running and dodging skills, and to get some much-needed moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity. This game is also a great way to reinforce the math concept of addition and to create a feeling of belonging among the players.
What You Need:
- A group of energetic kids
What You Do:
- Choose one child to be “It.”
- As “It” tags other players, they also become “It.” The result is a cluster of children that keeps growing until there’s just one big “blob” running around together.
- The last player tagged is the first person to be “It” in the next round.
For a more cooperative – and challenging – version, have tagged players hold hands with “It” and with all others tagged!
