Kids are sure to love this new twist on the classic game of tag. Not only is it fun and energetic, it also teaches problem solving and gets kids thinking about how turtles move. This is a great way to help your kid get some exercise—with all the running and falling that ensues, it's a great full-body workout!
What You Need:
- Nothing — just a group of energetic kids
What You Do:
- As with the traditional game of tag, one child is “It” and trying to catch the remaining players.
- If a child is being chased, she can be “safe” by lying on her back like an upside-down turtle.
- If “It” hasn’t tagged someone in a certain amount of time (say, a minute and a half), give the signal that means “It” should get into the turtle position.
- Choose another child to be “It” and start again!
You can add a cooperative element to this game by requiring the “turtles” to remain on the ground until another player comes along to help them up!
