In fifth grade, students are expected to analyze complex texts on a deeper level. Teach your students to use close reading strategies, like rereading and annotation symbols, to dive deeper into fictional texts.

In this lesson, your students will think about what attracts them to a book. They will learn about the types of people involved in getting a book published.

Use this lesson to teach your students about the appropriate wardrobe for the different seasons. Also, teach them about the wonderful holidays of each season!

Help your students understand rounding without rhymes or tricks. Students will use an open number line to round and then take part in a fun game that will get them moving around the room.
