Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was a 17th century writer and philosopher who today is considered one of the first documented feminists and advocates for women’s education. In this lesson, students will read two nonfiction texts about Sor Juana and discuss her life and accomplishments before writing an opinion piece about her.

This lesson combines students' knowledge of US geography and their creative writing skills in one fun activity!

Students will be introduced to the tenths place value while converting fractions during this fun and interactive lesson.

Students will get to explore three-digit numbers through base-ten blocks and written form. Students will get plenty of practice identifying the place values of a number both individually and with the class.

Use this hands-on lesson to encourage collaboration amongst students as they review base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. This lesson can be used as a pre-lesson to Base Ten Block Party or as a stand-alone activity.
