In this 2-day lesson honoring Indigenous People’s Day, children will learn about powerful Native American leaders, how they led and what they stood for. Students will actively engage in research, art integration and presenting to peers.

Let your students find out that the sentences they speak so easily are formed of many different parts. Have them break down sentences to learn the various parts that form a sentence!

Students will enjoy thinking about subject and verbs as two parts that must work together to form a clear idea. Students will create mixed-up sentences as a class, then write funny stories that peers can revise.
