Science isn't ho hum anymore when it involves building catapults to teach your fifth grader about projectile motion.

What is elasticity? Students will investigate how this concept applies to bouncing ball physics by testing the bounces of balls made out of different materials.

Check out this mind-blowing experiment in which a hard-boiled egg will fit through an impossibly small opening with the help of only a few matches!

How to test for acids and bases? In this activity you and your child can make your own indicator from red cabbage!

Show your child how to concoct a simple duo of household ingredients that changes color as acids and bases are added!

This science fair project idea produces sounds by creating vibrations using different objects.

Your kid can learn about the process of making frozen yogurt and enjoy a homemade, flavorful dessert. Experiment with this fun, chilly food!

Teach your child how butter is created by shaking up cream the old-fashioned way.

Based on the concept of water's "freezing point," this activity entails the lowering of water's freezing point to chill ice cream!

In this fun activity, your child will create their very own solar oven to bake s'mores!

Show your fifth grade scientist how to create a siphon using two buckets, plastic tubing, and water. Watch her astonishment as the water travels uphill!

This science fair project idea explores whether talking to a plant will help it grow.

This science fair project creates a visual model of whatâs happening to sound waves as a car approaches and then leaves.

Experiment with buoyancy to learn how a submarine rises and sinks in this classic science experiment.

This science fair project idea explores the relationship between oil and water in terms of density as well as hydrophilic/hydrophobic compounds.

Sink or swim? Calculate the density of various fruits and vegetables using water and a kitchen scale.

This Mother's Day, mix in some fifth grade science learning to create this fabulous fudge!
