In this lesson, students will use computational thinking and design engineering to create and compare prototypes of a feeding dish for a pet dog.

Windmills have been around for generations to grind food and create energy. During this challenge, students will use various materials and put their engineering skills to work by creating their own windmills.

In this lesson, students will solve a design problem as they create a marble maze out of LEGO bricks.

In this lesson, students will learn the term "troubleshooting" and practice solving problems using both tangible and virtual tools.

Introduce students to the term algorithm using the familiar story of The Three Little Pigs. In this lesson, students will develop an algorithm, or a step-by-step sequence of instructions, for building a house made out of bricks.

In this lesson, students will learn to create an animated character using the education coding app ScratchJr.

In this lesson, students will learn the word 'animation' and create an animated figure in a flip book.

What is a robot? What can robots do? Computer programmers tell robots what to do by creating a sequence of commands. In this lesson, students work in pairs to program a robot to act out the story from the mini story book My Friend.

In this lesson, students will solve a design problem and practice troubleshooting as they create a list of instructions for putting together a tent.

In this lesson, students will learn to program an animated figure using ScratchJr.

In this lesson, students will learn to create a simple algorithm using block code. The platform used for this activity is a website created by Google that provides free educational games that teach students to program using block code.

In this lesson, students will create a set of instructions for navigating a life-size maze.

Your students will enjoy this hands on lesson where they make simple solutions and mixtures. They will have an opportunity to predict and observe solids that dissolve in water.
