Make a Halloween Candle Holder
Topics: First Grade, Arts and Crafts
Nothing says Halloween like candlelight! For a ghostly arts and crafts activity that will give your child an introduction to the art of stained glass, give these candleholders a try. Your house will end up looking ripe for Halloween, and your driveway will never glow quite as eerily as it will on that night of nights.
What You Need:
- paper streamers in spooky colors like orange and black
- scissors
- liquid starch
- small galss jar
- paintbrushes
- aluminum foil
What You Do:
- Tear the streamers into tiny pieces.
- Paint the liquid starch onto the jar, arrange the pieces of streamer so they completely cover the jar and then add another coat of liquid starch on top.
- Place the jar on aluminum foil to dry.
- Drop in a votive candle and let the mood-lighting begin!
