DIY Fridge Magnets

What to Do:

1. Invite your child to sculpt small shapes, between 1" and 3" in diameter, out of play dough. A simple way to do this is to roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter or ravioli cutter for pre-cut shapes; this method is perfect for younger kids. Otherwise, you can mold your own shapes like alphabet letters, animals, or dinosaurs. Just be sure that the back of the tiny sculpture is flat.
2. Set the shapes aside and let them dry overnight. Keep in mind that thicker or larger shapes may take longer to dry.
3. Hand your child a paintbrush or glitter pen, and let her decorate! Try adding faces, polka dots, or other designs to liven up the shapes.
4. Help your child glue the one magnet to the back of each shape. If the shape it too large or too heavy to be held up with one magnet, try using two or three for extra support. Now decorate your fridge with the funky, unique designs to add a little bit of flair to your kitchen!
