Measure to the nearest quarter-inch with your students and teach them to organize data into a line plot graph using this highly interactive lesson plan!

Support your students as they build a foundation in data analysis! Use this as an independent lesson or alongside the lesson entitled What is it Telling me? Creating and Interpreting Line Plots.

Line plots are a great way to introduce your students to graphing data. In this lesson, your students will learn how to create a line plot and also practice interpreting line plots.

In this lesson, your students will measure the lengths of items and then make a line plot to show the measurement data. They will get hands-on by measuring and surveying the class.

This lesson provides students with the opportunity to critically think about data. Use this lesson alongside Line Plots: Representing the Length of Classroom Items or as a stand alone lesson.

In this hands-on lesson, your students will get to sharpen their measuring skills as they measure lengths of items in your classroom to the nearest quarter inch. They'll get to then use their data to create line plots.

It's time to zoom in on the space between 0 and 1 on the number line! In this lesson, your students will get practice labeling different fractions on the number line.

Take students’ understanding of bar graphs and line plots to the next level. This lesson will encourage students to think about how graphs are designed and the questions we can ask and answer about data presented in graphs.

Students will have a ball with this data collection lesson plan where they learn about collecting and plotting data on a chart and line plot.

Practicing subtraction using a thermometer for a number line makes math fun! In this lesson, your students will get more comfortable with subtracting two digit numbers.

Teach your students to use number lines as a strategy to multiply two single-digit factors.

Support your students as they collect, organize, and discuss measurement data! Use this lesson independently or alongside Making Measurements for Line Plots.

In this lesson, students engage in interesting hands-on activities that help them discover the properties of parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines. Your little mathematicians will have a blast as they learn about geometry.

Graphs bring data to life and help us draw conclusions about the information. In this lesson, students will engage with three different kinds of graphs by asking and answering interpretive questions.

Have you ever imagined the action and imagery used in conflict during fantasy fiction novels? Using an Education.com workbook, students will learn the vocabulary of literature and complete a crossword puzzle.

Have you ever wished that books, like movies, would state their conflict and genres on the cover? With the help of an Education.com workbook, students will learn to find the clues and read like a writer.

Have you ever read a story and immediately began to compare the characters to those of your favorite story? In this lesson, students will learn to read context clues and descriptions in order to understand characters and compare them.

Sometimes authors choose to describe their setting for readers to imagine, but don't actually tell them where the story is set! In this lesson, students will learn to deduce settings from context.

Teach your students to calculate fractions of 100 using a number line model.

Give your students a chance to hone their reading comprehension skills as they learn about the characters, setting, and plot of their favorite fiction books by creating a story map.

This lesson will provide your ELs with support as they learn about the key elements of fictional text, including characters, setting, and plot. Use as a stand alone activity or a support lesson.

By fourth grade, most students are familiar with story elements such as setting, characters, and plot. In this lesson, students will compare and contrast the elements in two stories with similar themes.

Geometry is everywhere! Lines, line segments, and points are all around. In this lesson, your students will learn about important aspects of geometry.

Give your students a great basis in mathematics with this lesson that has them use a number line to find differences for basic subtraction facts.

In this lesson, your students will use hands-on visuals to learn about fractions! Your students will love using manipulatives to practice placing fractions on a number line.

Help your students understand rounding without rhymes or tricks. Students will use an open number line to round and then take part in a fun game that will get them moving around the room.

Use this lesson to help your ELs compare and contrast supporting characters from excerpted texts. It can be a stand-alone lesson or support the lesson Understanding Character Traits, Understanding Plot Lesson Part III.

Get your students thinking about how the number line and the word problem are related! Use this lesson alongside Get There On Time: Elapsed Time Word Problems or on its own.

A line, an arrow, and a simple rule are all that separate students from rounding success. This lesson will give young mathematicians an engaging overview of place values and rounding.
